Welcome to our award winning EYFS
Our Early Years Foundation Stage has been awarded a Centre of Excellence for Communication and Language in 2024. This means we support other settings by sharing our exemplary practice in developing early language skills through the use of Helicopter stories (of which we are recognised as a Helicopter Story hub) and Poetry Basket. We have also since been a finalist in the Bucks Teaching Awards for Excellence in Early Years.
Our excellence in Early Years Provision is also built upon in Key Stage 1. Children transition seamlessly into Year 1, where continuous provision remains an integral part of their learning. This coupled with a continuation of Helicopter Stories and Poetry Basket, ensures children continue to develop strong foundations in communication and language.

The EYFS Curriculum
The Curriculum for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) underpins all future learning. As such, it is the starting point on all our long term plans and progression maps for the rest of the school. The EYFS prepares children (aged 2- 5 years old) for learning in Key Stage 1. Our spacious indoor and outdoor areas provide a wide range of experiences across all seven areas of learning within the EYFS framework.
