Welcome to our school
Welcome to Lane End Primary school. In our school we encourage children to challenge themselves without fear of failure, to try new things and be open to a wide range of experiences: to join a rock band, sing in a choir, compete in sports events, become members of our school parliament , speak like a specialist and embrace every opportunity!
We are a Helicopter Story Hub which runs throughout EYFS and also Key Stage 1. The children are immersed in story lanugauge and have the opportunity to develop vocabulary and a sense of story telling through performance. Learning in our Early Years Foundation Stage is rooted in first-hand experience: trips to the Post Office, a farm, the shops and visits from strange and wonderful creatures are the stimulus for talking and learning. We get dirty in our outdoor areas - going outside in rain or shine and we learn to work hard in all that we do.
The adventure continues from Reception right the way through to Year 6 with opportunities to sing at the Royal Albert Hall, travel to different towns and cities to bring our curriculum subjects to life, meet local MPs, cook a three course meal and not forgetting - challenge ourselves on a high ropes course at our week long residential for Year 6!
Happy children are successful children and we focus on creating a nurturing learning adventure where each and every child is listened to, and understood, so that they can flourish. We support our children to grow the knowledge required to embrace skills which will prepare them for lifelong learning. We equip them with resilience and self-discipline so that they have the confidence and ability to think for themselves and overcome challenges they may face.
Underpinning all this, expectations are high. We are a dedicated and motivated staff who enable our students to work hard and achieve – we want the very best for our children.
Come and find out more for yourself.
