History

Within our history curriculum children gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. Children deepen their understanding of the complexity of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of different societies and the achievements of mankind. Through the learning of history, children develop a sense of chronological narrative, understanding of historical concepts such as continuity and change, cause and consequence, similarity, difference and significance. While learning about the history of Lane End and High Wycombe, a sense of historical curiosity is nurtured, strengthening knowledge and appreciation of the local area and forging stronger links with the community.
